Tran Hoang Phu Xuan: Vietnam’s Fabric of the Future

With a bold vision and a heart for sustainability, the founder of Faslink is transforming textiles into tools for change.

A New Weave of Purpose

Tran Hoang Phu Xuan’s journey into textiles didn’t begin with fashion shows or designer labels—it began with a mission. In 2008, she founded Faslink, a company that would later redefine what fabric could mean for both people and planet. What started as a small-scale supplier is now a leader in eco-friendly fibres, delivering materials made from coffee grounds, lotus leaves, mint, and even oyster shells.

Her company is more than a supplier—it’s a statement about responsibility, future-forward thinking, and environmental consciousness in an often wasteful industry.

Threading Sustainability into the Industry

Phu Xuan’s deep dive into global fabric innovation led her to a revelation: Vietnam had an opportunity to lead Asia’s green textile movement. She shifted her focus from conventional manufacturing to sourcing and creating biodegradable, renewable fabrics. The journey wasn’t easy—these materials are more expensive and demand extensive research—but her perseverance paid off.

Today, Faslink’s eco-textiles have reached millions of consumers through uniform contracts and partnerships, creating tangible proof that sustainable fashion can also be scalable.

Beyond Fashion: Educating the Next Generation

Understanding that sustainability must be taught, not just produced, Faslink invests heavily in education. Young designers and students are brought into its ecosystem, not only to learn the process but to understand the why behind it. From exploring fibres like hemp and bamboo to engaging in digital design training, students are encouraged to create with intention and purpose.

This education-first mindset ensures that Faslink’s legacy is not just products but people—those who are equipped to lead the next era of ethical fashion.

Leading with Impact

Her leadership style? Deeply human. Phu Xuan believes that business transformation begins with personal transformation. She fosters a culture where innovation, empathy, and purpose go hand in hand. The company’s recent internal campaign, “Be an Expert”, reflects her belief that expertise isn’t just technical—it’s a mindset of growth and resilience.

The Road Ahead

Looking forward, Faslink is poised to triple the use of its eco-fibres domestically, with plans to introduce sustainable fashion to the everyday consumer. A research and innovation hub is in the works, which will focus on developing next-generation fabrics and apparel that are accessible, durable, and beautiful.

Her dream? She envisions a future where sustainability is not just a trend, but a standard.

“Fashion should never come at the cost of the planet. Our role is to ensure it doesn’t have to.” – Tran Hoang Phu Xuan
